Mike Filey is Toronto’s broadcast historian – this weekend he’ll recall the first really tall building in our downtown – the Bank of Nova Scotia opened this week in 1951.
As well – the first TTC bus route in the city started this week in 1921, and the cornerstone of Maple Leaf Gardens was tapped into place this week in 1931.
Great stories, and great songs from those days – ‘Mike Filey’s Toronto’, Saturday and Sunday at 12:30 – from Zoomer Radio.
