Toronto’s broadcast historian is Mike Filey and this first weekend of the new year, he’ll look back at the historic vote January 2nd, 1950, that finally permitted sports events on Sunday.
He’ll also recall the new concept of ‘condominium’ housing, introduced to Bramalea in January 1967, and the high-rise complex for some 60,000 people planned for the Toronto Island in January of 1968.
How Toronto grew – or didn’t – are also parts of ‘Mike Filey’s Toronto’ – heard every Saturday at 12:30, and repeated Sunday at 12:30 – from Zoomer Radio.
